Here is a podcast that Aly and I recorded recently in answer to the following question:
When a student asks a question to a spiritual teacher it implies separation because it involves an independently “real” student asking a question to an independently “real” teacher. The teacher then responds validating the separateness of the student. Are the teacher and student actually separate, and if not, why does this seem to be the case?
This is our first attempt at a podcast. There’s no fancy introduction; we just jump right into the material. It was very spur-of-the-moment.
It was late in the day, I was tired, my voice was a bit raw — but I think it ended up being a good, in-depth conversation about what the Teacher-student relationship is like.
